General Conditions
GENERAL INFORMATION
Sheffield Centre S.L. is a legally established company with CIF B79018776, which acts as an intermediary agent for accommodations, transportation companies, cultural institutions, etc. included in our program. As a guarantee for our students, we only work with centers, schools, universities, institutions, and professionals of recognized prestige. Sheffield Centre, S.L (hereinafter SC), in defense of the interests of its clients, has prepared the following General Conditions.
REGISTRATION, PRICE, AND PAYMENT METHOD
By signing this registration, Sheffield Centre receives the mandate from the contracting client to process the student’s enrollment in the chosen program according to the specified characteristics. SC undertakes to provide the participant with the contracted services as indicated with the stipulated conditions and characteristics. The activities and excursions reflected in the «Program of the course» may be subject to modifications due to reasons beyond SC’s control, being replaced by similar or superior quality alternatives. It is the responsibility of the student to have the necessary documentation (passport, visa, travel authorization for minors, etc.) for traveling. The student must have their personal documentation in accordance with the regulations of both the home country and the destination country, with validity extending beyond the program’s end date. SC is not responsible for the student’s language proficiency not meeting the expectations of the participant or their parents or legal guardian upon completing the course. Therefore, there is no subsequent right to claims or financial compensation. In some cases, SC offers an orientation language level test before departure for participants who request it. Enrollment in the program implies acceptance of these General Conditions and the rules applicable to the program by the participant and their parents or guardians. SC reserves the right to admission to any of its programs. The participant and their parents guarantee to SC that the student has motivation, interest, and adaptability to achieve the proper development of the program. SC is not responsible for the consequences resulting from the participant’s lack of effort or performance.
CONSUMER’S PROGRAM ABANDONMENT
Cases of program abandonment by the student, attributable to the student themselves (voluntarily or by their parents or guardians), will result in an immediate return to the student’s home country. From this moment, SC is absolved of any responsibility regarding the student, their stay, and return, with all repatriation costs being borne by the participant or their parents. Furthermore, the cancellation fees will amount to 100% of the total course fee.
MEDICAL, PHARMACOLOGICAL, AND/OR SURGICAL TREATMENT
The participant or their parents should inform SC if the student is undergoing any medical or pharmacological treatment during their stay in the destination country. Additionally, they should provide information if the student follows a special diet or has any allergies. It is understood that at the beginning of the program, the participant is in perfect physical and mental health, and the provided medical information is true and complete. In the event that during the program, the participant requires medical treatment, hospitalization, or surgery, and SC cannot locate their parents, guardians, or legal representatives, SC and the organizations sponsoring the programs in the home country are authorized to take the necessary measures to preserve the participant’s health. If the student needs to return to their home country for medical reasons, the program will be considered completed.
TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
SC contracts all travel with professional travel agencies and transportation companies and cannot be held responsible for delays, accidents, cancellations, strikes, route alterations, luggage loss or damage, loss or destruction of tickets, changes in conditions or fares, etc. If such circumstances occur, SC will assist in finding the most suitable solution, but the expenses will be covered by the participant.
CUSTOMS AND MANNERS OF THE COUNTRY WHERE THE PROGRAM TAKES PLACE AND MANDATORY RULES DURING THE PROGRAM
The participant agrees to maintain respectful and friendly relationships and to accept the authority and recommendations of SC staff, monitors, coordinators, and teachers in all matters related to the program’s smooth operation, as well as their behavior and safety. The student must understand that life and customs in the host country may be different from their own and, therefore, they must accept and adapt to them, without expecting meals, classes, accommodation, transportation, distances, schedules, social and moral behavior norms, etc., to be the same as those in their usual place of residence. SC undertakes to offer the most suitable accommodation for the program’s development. The participant commits to attending classes, adhering to schedules, achieving good academic performance, and respecting prohibitions on the possession or consumption of tobacco, e-cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, etc. The participating student, as well as their parents or guardians (if they are a minor), pledge to comply with the laws of the host country and the rules established by local organizations, schools, etc. If the participant is expelled for non-compliance with these rules, SC will not be held responsible or reimburse any amount. The participant or their parents or guardians will be responsible for the expenses incurred for their early return to their home country, indemnifications for damages caused to third parties, and reimbursement of any extraordinary expenses incurred by SC as a result of such expulsion.
LEGAL NOTICE ON PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION AND DATA TRANSFER
You hereby grant SC authorization to use, in the future, any photographic, audiovisual, or other materials in which the participant appears unless there is prior explicit opposition on the participant’s part. These materials may be used for the promotion or advertising of SC’s programs. Furthermore, you are informed of the possibility to exercise the rights of access, rectification, cancellation, and opposition under the terms established in the current legislation, by sending a written request to Sheffield Centre, S.L., at the following address: C/ Velázquez, 16, 28001 Madrid (Spain).
